INDO Zambia Bank (IZB) managing director Maheshkumar Bansal says the firm will continue to complement Government’s efforts in growing the economy and creating decent jobs for Zambians.

Mr Bansal says the financial institution will continue being a key player in the economy through the promotion of decent work in line with Government’s pro-poor policies aimed at uplifting the socioeconomic welfare of citizens.

He said sustainable economic development could only be achieved through concerted efforts and that his bank remains committed to accelerating the country’s economy for the benefit of citizens.
Mr Bansal said this on Friday during the bank’s Labour Day awards ceremony which saw 22 employees walking away with awards.
“I have taken keen interest in the government’s Labour Day theme ‘Securing decent work for sustainable socio-economic development’. I am proud to observe that Indo Zambia Bank continues to go above and beyond in fostering sustainable socio-economic development,” he said.
And Mr Bansal urged IZB employees to maintain high level of discipline in their execution of duty and provision of services to customers.
He urged the workers to increase their productivity levels in a wake of challenging and competitive market conditions.
Mr Bansal expressed concern at the low productivity levels and loss of status at some branches.
“I pay gratitude to each of you for your hard work. The challenge now is not to be content or complacent but to increase productivity and stretch our efforts in the quest to defend and fortify our competitive space in the market and increase our market share,” Mr Bansal said.
