Independence Cup goes to Chipata

OVER 60 teams are expected to vie for glory during the Independence Cup Netball tournament billed for Chipata.
Netball Association of Zambia general secretary Pritchard Ngoma said in Lusaka yesterday that the tournament is open to all affiliated clubs.
Ngoma said the tournament will be used to identify players for future international engagements.
“We have embarked on talent identification programme. The tournament will be used as a platform to identify players who will represent the country at international tournaments.
“I am appealing to all clubs to ensure they participate in the tournament. It will be the only chance to help us identify talent,” Ngoma said.
The tournament is set for October 17-18 at Kenneth Kaunda courts in Chipata.
