Immorality abominable – Sumaili

SUMAILI

CATHERINE MUMBA, Lusaka
MINISTER of National Guidance and Religious Affairs Godfridah Sumaili has urged the Church to preach the true gospel of God, especially the

need for people to work hard to acquire wealth instead of using the shortcut of miracles.
And Reverend Sumaili has described reports of sexual immorality as shocking.
She said in an interview yesterday that there is propensity for making wealth quickly, resulting in an increase in the number of people involved in unacceptable behaviour.
“The Bible is clear that we need to work to make money. That is the truth that we should be preaching in our churches,” she said.
Rev Sumaili said the Church needs to preach more of the gospel, which is the only truth that can bring deliverance to the nation.
“I think as the Church, we are not doing enough in preaching the knowledge and truth of God,” she said.
And Rev Sumaili said it is an abomination in the eyes of God for an individual to have carnal knowledge of an animal as witnessed recently, as such acts attract curses.
On Wednesday, police arrested a 15-year-old boy in Mpika district, Muchinga Province, for having carnal knowledge of a she-goat.
In another unfortunate development, a 48-year-old man was arrested in Eastern Province for defiling his 15-year-old biological daughter and fathering a child with her, with the consent of the girl’s mother, in a ritual aimed at making the family wealthy.
Rev Sumaili has since advised that the boy undergoes counselling.
