IM title excites Kayonde

ANDREW Kayonde is excited to earn the International Master title.
Kayonde said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday that he will work hard to ensure he attains the Grand Master title.
He finished second at the Africa Individual Chess Championship in Kampala, Uganda, last week.
“After the Africa Individual Chess Championship in Uganda, my rating went to 2422. For one to become an International Master (IM), one must be rated at 2400 and for a Grand Master (GM) title the rating is 2500. I need to close the gap with 78 points to get this title [Grand Master],” said Kayonde, who was FIDE Master prior to his elevation.READ MORE
