I won election fairly – Kambwili

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Roan member of Parliament (MP) Chishimba Kambwili has told the Ndola High Court that the electorate voted for him in the August 11 general elections because of his unblemished record of diligent service over the 10 years he has been in office, contrary to allegations of him bribing voters.
This is in an election petition in which losing United Party for National Development (UPND) parliamentary candidate Andrew Kayekesi is challenging Dr Kambwili’s re-election on grounds that the election was allegedly marred with bribery and malice.
“I was astonished to hear allegations of bribery levelled against me. I have never used money in my entire political career to ask people to vote for me. I have created rapport with the people of Roan and that is why they vote for me. And I never promised anyone money,” Dr Kambwili testified before High Court judge Charles Chanda on Monday.READ MORE
