HH ‘rejects’ peace

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema yesterday refused to sign an Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) peace accord which President Lungu and four other political party leaders signed as a sign of commitment to peace ahead of next month’s general elections.
Mr Hichilema could not sign the Peace Accord saying there were some benchmarks, which are supposed to be met by stakeholders such as the ECZ and the police.
Those who signed the peace accord are President Lungu, who is Patriotic Front (PF) president, Forum for Democracy and Development president Edith Nawakwi and Andyford Banda of the Peoples’ Alliance for Change (PAC).READ MORE
