HH petitions poll results

THE United Party for National Development (UPND) has petitioned the Constitutional Court demanding the nullification of the declaration that President Edgar Lungu and Vice-President Inonge Wina were validly elected as President-elect and Vice President-elect of Zambia in last week’s polls.
And Constitutional Court judge Annie Sitali says she will hear inter parte an application by the UPND for an ex parte order for interim relief that the Electoral Commission of Zambia and its agents be restrained from altering, destroying, tampering with materials used in the general elections.
UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and his vice-president for administration Geoffrey Bwalya who filed the petition have also demanded that Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini assumes duties and functions of President.READ MORE
