Harmonise migration policies, African states urged

AFRICAN countries, including Zambia, need to harmonise their policies on migration to enable migrants to positively contribute to socio-economic development.
Data shows that migrants are primarily beneficial to host countries in which they spend around 85 percent of their earnings and only 15 percent is remitted to their countries of origin.
Officiating at the Les Panafricaines women journalists’ forum under the theme ‘African Migrations’ on Friday, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Nasser Bourita said there is need for efficient ways of managing prospects that migration presents.
