Guard testifies in police copper theft case

COPPER cathodes.

A WITNESS yesterday identified three police officers as the ones who allegedly took the copper cathodes at the premises where he was working.

This is in a case in which five police officers; Levinus Mukana, 42, Swift Mumba, 31, Richard Sailoni, 27, Gideon Longwe, 30 and Prince Kabwe, 29, are jointly charged with theft by servant.
Particulars of the offence allege that the five, on October 25, this year, jointly and whilst acting together and being employed as public servants in the Zambia Police Service, stole 1527.30kg of copper cathodes worth K102,487.97, the property of Zambia Police that came into their possession by virtue of their employment.
