Guard against State capture, judges advised

PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has advised the Judiciary to guard against State capture in order to maintain its independence and integrity.

State capture is a type of systemic political corruption in which private interests significantly influence a state’s decision-making processes to their own advantage.
President Lungu said State capture is a broader concept that does not only apply to the presidency but other organs of government such as the judiciary and legislature.
