Govt to meet millers over prices

GOVERNMENT has called for a meeting with the Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) to devise ways of stabilising the cost of the mealie-meal currently selling between K80 and K90.
The increase in price of mealie-meal is attributed to the shortage of maize on the local market especially from the private sector.
In an interview on Tuesday, MAZ president Andrew Chintala said the engagement with Government is aimed at seeing how the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) can offload some maize on the market.
