MINISTER of Transport and Communications Brian Mushimba says Government is considering signing a concession agreement with the Chinese for purposes of revamping the operations of the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA).
Mr Mushimba said in an interview yesterday that Government wants to come up with a lasting solution for TAZARA because it is a strategic institution to the economies of both Zambia and Tanzania.
“The Chinese approached us with our counterparts in Tanzania to see how best we can work with them to save this institution. We are looking at a concession agreement and talks are progressing well,” he said.
