Government should zerorate tax on chlorine

Dear editor,
I WOULD like to appeal to Minister of Finance Felix Mutati to seriously consider reducing or zero-rating taxes on chlorine and Aluminum sulphate, which is used in water purification by water utilities. Just like medicine is imported without paying anything to ZRA, Government should also look at the huge costs on these ‘water medicines’.

Apart from making the water safe for drinking, it can also lower the cost and ultimately reduce water tariffs for consumers.
