‘God made them male and female’

THURSDAY, March 3, 2016: It has been said that when America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold. That is very true. Whatever happens in the USA soon engulfs the rest of the world-whether we like it or not. Sometimes this is good, but sometimes it is awfully bad.
One of the areas in which this is bad has been the recent effort on the part of homosexual lobby groups in the USA to obliterate the difference between male and female. The fact that they have succeeded as much as they have is what is so staggering.
The Bible clearly says, “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Gen. 1:27, see also Matt. 19:4). This distinction is supposed to be evident simply by looking at human sexual organs at birth.
Then as we grow up, other features are added that clearly distinguish a male from a female. A male develops a beard while a female develops breasts. A male voice becomes deep while a female voice becomes sweet. Male hair is short while female hair grows long.
Even when science looks at our chromosomes, it sees that we are very different. Those of us who are males have XY-chromosomes and our female counterparts have XX-chromosomes. You would have thought that would settle the issue, but it has not.
We are now being told that there are some females who are trapped in male bodies and there are males who are trapped in female bodies. Thus it is wrong for us to announce, “It’s a boy!” or “It’s a girl!” when our baby is born. Sexual organs are not impeccable.
We are told that we must now wait until the baby has become old enough to tell us himself or herself what his or her gender is. Forget what you are seeing happening with the body. Your child must tell you which gender they identify with. Yours is to simply accept it.
Thus, in America, we have individuals who identify themselves as “transgender”, by which they mean that they belong to the gender that is the exact opposite of what you are seeing on their outside. Even if they look male by your definition, they are actually female.
Surgery is now available in America and elsewhere in the Western world for those “transgender” persons who want to alter their bodies to fit what they are on the inside. A person born as a male can change his body into a female body, and vice versa.
Perhaps the biggest noise in this area was made last year on April 24 in America when television personality Bruce Jenner announced that he was “transgender”. The level of excitement was unbelievable. His first name was even changed from Bruce to Caitlyn Marie.
The fact that Bruce has fathered six children with three different women is not an argument to prove that he is male. He insists that he is female and we must all accept his word for it. He must be allowed to use female public toilets because he says he is female.
The online encyclopaedia Wikipedia uses the female pronoun throughout its article on Caitlyn (formerly Bruce), who admits “she” is not sexually attracted to men but to women. America is certainly sneezing and the rest of the world is dazed and catching a cold!
If we must put aside physical evidence and simply accept a person’s gender by what he wants, we are throwing away objective facts that scream at us and instead are preferring subjective claims. This does not happen in any other sphere of life.
For instance, one mango plus one mango is two mangoes. No-one can tell us that there are twenty mangoes because he counts ones as tens. Even if he tells us that was how he was born on the inside, we will insist that he sticks to conventional counting methods.
In the same way, the Bible clearly says, “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Gen. 1:27). Surely, we must stick to conventional genders. To mess around with that is to destroy how God made us.
