Global Group aims at stability in edible oil

GLOBAL Group of Companies says it will remain competitive in the edible oil manufacturing sector in Zambia by offering high quality and affordable brands for both local and international markets.
The local Ndola-based firm is focused to become a hub for a leading edible oil and soap manufacturing industry in sub-Saharan Africa and beyond through increased investments.
Company representative Doreen Malunga said in Ndola yesterday that despite increased competition for edible oils on the local market, the firm endeavours to offer high quality and affordable competitive brands.
“Our brands are competitive on the local market as we offer quality edible oils and classic soaps, which are internationally certified,” she said.
Ms Malunga was speaking at the ongoing 52nd Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF) where the company is exhibiting its various brands. These include; Soja, Rina, Champion and classic soaps.
This year’s ZITF theme is Value addition for job creation which has attracted a total of 500 exhibitors with 101 being foreign exhibitors.
Ms Malunga said the company was meeting the demand on the local market and was exporting to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
“Our products have not only been received well by local consumers alone, but also by the foreign market,” she said.
Currently, edible oil manufacturing companies in the country are faced with unfair competition from imported products which are selling cheaply on the local market.
