AN 11-year-old girl of Chingola’s Ipafu farm block on Wednesday drowned in the crocodile-infested Kafue River.
Copperbelt commissioner of police Joyce Kasosa said yesterday that Memory Chibwe slipped and fell into the river while trying to cross it and that her body has been retrieved.
“We had an incident in Chingola where a young girl was trying to cross the river. The girl stepped on some stones and slipped into the river,” she said.
Ms Kasosa said some of Memory’s body parts were missing and police suspect they were eaten by crocodiles.
