GDP records over K29 million growth

ZAMBIA’S gross domestic product (GDP) has witnessed significant growth of K29.7 million due to strong activities in the retail, trade and mining sectors.
According to preliminary results measured by Central Statistical Office (CSO), GDP is projected to grow by over K245.7 billion in 2017 compared to about K216 billion in 2016.
Of the total amount, wholesale and retail trade industry had the highest share accounting for 19.1 percent followed by mining and quarrying sector at 14.8 percent.
