Fuel found in belly

Speaking to journalists at Katima Mulilo border post yesterday, ZRA corporate communications manager Topsy Sikalinda said truck drivers are connecting illegal tanks with a capacity of 1,800 litres on the belly of their vehicles which they are using to smuggle fuel.
“ZRA has unearthed another fuel scam at Katima Mulilo, Chirundu and Chanida border posts and so far, 60 trucks are in detention. We have seized 20 trucks; 15 at Chirundu and five at Katima Mulilo border posts,” he said.
Mr Sikalinda said the five trucks seized at Katima Mulilo will be driven to Lusaka to offload the perishables they are containing.
