FRA buys 28,410 metric tonnes of maize

THE Food Reserve Agency (FRA) has so far bought 28,410 metric tonnes of maize from farmers in Muchinga Province in the ongoing crop-marketing exercise.

The agency has established 132 satellite depots in various districts in the province and it is targeting to buy 55,800 metric tonnes of maize from farmers in the region.

Muchinga Province agriculture coordinator Victor Mulopa said in an interview yesterday that the crop marketing exercise is progressing well and that farmers are taking their maize to the depots.
