KALUSHA Bwalya, who is protesting his innocence following a two-year ban from football activities by world governing body FIFA, has received a number of sympathy messages from across the footballing world.Former President and longtime football fan Rupiah Banda, who strongly cautioned Zambians against mocking Kalusha, urged the 1988 African footballer of the year to remain strong and focused.
“It is very unfortunate, you know that Kalusha is our icon in football,” Banda, who is a former Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) vice chairman and founding member of the Bola Bola Association, the country’s earliest football supporters group, said.
“I don’t have details of what really happened but it is very sad for our country. I hope that the truth will come out. I hope that he will appeal because what has happened is very sad for our football.”http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
