Foloko wants medals at international competitions

MWEMBE KAONA and KELLY NJOMBO, Lusaka
NATIONAL Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president Alfred Foloko says his executive will work tirelessly to ensure athletes win medals at international competitions.
In an interview in Lusaka yesterday on the sidelines of the ongoing strategic planning facilitators workshop, Foloko said he would ensure all resources offered by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) are used for the intended purpose of developing sports.
“We will tap into all the assistance offered by Olympic Solidarity to prop up sports and ensure that each time we go out for games we have medals to show,” he said.
Olympic Solidarity is the aid wing of the IOC responsible for organising assistance for all the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), particularly those with the greatest needs, through multi-faceted programmes prioritising athlete development, training of coaches, administrators and promoting the Olympic ideals.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
