Firm invests $6.2 million in agriculture

THE number of small-scale farmers in Central Province is on the increase, but a gap exists in value addition.

SERENJE Properties Limited, an agricultural enterprise, has set aside over US$6.2 million to develop an integrated farming project to contribute to the country’s food security.
The project will be fully integrated into a commercial irrigated agricultural scheme for food crops such as wheat, lucern, barley, soya beans, maize, seed maize, coffee, macadamia nuts and avocados, as well as animal ranching activities  http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
