‘Financial sector hurdles solvable’

THE liquidity challenges facing the financial sector cannot overshadow the opportunities that present themselves to the industry, Focus Group of Companies chief executive officer Solomon Ngwenya has said.
And Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Chintu Mulendama says there is need to unlock capital markets to finance the country’s economic development since commercial banks alone cannot provide entire capital needs for commerce.
During the 5th SEC chairman’s breakfast meeting yesterday, Mr Ngwenya said capital markets should be used as an avenue to mobilise resources to unlock the various opportunities that can propel the economy to greater heights.READ MORE
