WHEN FAZ abruptly terminated Dario Bonnetti’s contract, we ended up paying him through the nose for breach of contract and yet when Herve Renard ditched Zambia, we were simply left licking our wounds.
As we look for a new coach, FAZ should be careful not to sign lopsided contracts but include in the national football team coach’s contract a clause that not only safeguards against the likes of Herve Renard but also protects against punitive FIFA sanctions in case it becomes necessary to dismiss a coach.
