Farmers lose revenue

JERVIS Zimba.

ESTHERT MSETEKA, Lusaka
FARMERS trading at Soweto Market have lost millions of Kwacha as tonnes of fresh produce have gone bad following closure of the market due to cholera outbreak.

Zambia National Farmers’ Union (ZNFU) president Jervis Zimba says closure of the market, though well intended, has negatively impacted on farmers’ livelihood due to lack of sales.
Mr Zimba said the alternative market at Chinika Primary School, while serving as a temporary outlet, is too small to accommodate the hundreds of tonnes of produce from farmers.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
