FAO calls for livestock voucher

KELLY NJOMBO, Lusaka
THE Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has urged Government to establish a livestock development voucher that will be accessible to farmers if the sector is to thrive.

FAO country representative George Okechi said a mechanism must be developed to ensure that the livestock inputs such as medicines, vaccines, and dip tanks are available to farmers at cost recovery basis.
Mr Okechi said this when he recently appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, Land and Natural Resources chaired by Kaputa Member of Parliament Maxas Ng’onga recently.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
