‘Experience needed in World Cup qualifiers’

NATIONAL team captain Rainford Kalaba wants experienced players for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Kalaba said in an interview in Lusaka on Saturday that experience will be cardinal for a successful campaign in Group B.
Zambia were drawn alongside Algeria, Cameroon and Nigeria.
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have been to the showpiece a record seven times, Nigeria and Algeria have qualified five and four times respectively.
Kalaba said players like Christopher Katongo, his younger brother Felix, Collins Mbesuma, Kennedy Mweene and himself will make an impact in the Chipolopolo’s aspirations for a maiden World Cup slot.
Kalaba and the five players were instrumental in guiding Zambia to a maiden Africa Cup of Nations triumph in 2012.
