ZAMBIA’S exit from the African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Saturday is painful.
Coach Wedson Nyirenda’s failure to read the game contributed to the team’s defeat at the hands of the Sudanese.
The players were not at their best as evidenced by their poor performance. They wasted many scoring opportunities.
Sudan was better than Zambia as the former commanded the game most of the time.
Our boys did not learn from the mistakes they committed during the match against Namibia. The only game Zambia played well was the one against Ivory Coast.
In my own opinion, I feel the panacea to end the senior Chipolopolo’s woes is for the Football Association of Zambia to let Nyirenda go and recruit an expatriate coach.
It is sad that Zambia was booted out at the quarter-final stage. It is high time we picked the pieces. We must improve in all areas.
