CAROLINE KALOMBE, Lusaka
FORMER Minister of Justice Sebastian Zulu has sued government through the Attorney General for non-payment of allowances amounting to over K200,000.
According to a statement of claim filed in the High Court, Mr Zulu has sued government on his behalf and on behalf of the technical committee and its support staff on the sale of Zamtel to Lap Green and Zanaco to Rabo Bank.
Mr Zulu is demanding payment of terminal benefits and sitting allowances for the committee tasked to inquire into the sale of Zamtel to Lap Green and the sale of Zanaco Bank to Rabo Bank.
He said although his terms and conditions as minister of Justice did not contain a termination clause, he was entitled to reasonable notice  or three months salary and other terminal benefits in lieu of reasonable notice to terminate.
