FORMER international Evans Sakala has urged the Chipolopolo to avoid dropping points be it at home or away during the 2018 Russia World Cup group stage.
Sakala, a member of the national team that won silver at the 1994 Tunisia Africa Cup of Nations, said in an interview in Kitwe yesterday that the Chipolopolo have what it takes to qualify for the Russia finals.
Sakala said collecting maximum points is crucial to securing a slot at the World Cup finals.
“At this stage, the most important thing is not to lose points. When you are playing away, make sure you get a point or you win and when you are at home get maximum points,†he said.
The Nchanga Rangers assistant coach said the players should not feel intimidated by ‘big’ teams.
“There are no longer big teams in football. There is nothing like Tunisia is a big team, all the teams are big, what matters is preparedness. You have to be ready physically and mentally,†Sakala said.
