Esther Lungu honoured

THE Starkey Hearing Foundation of the United States of America has nominated First Lady Esther Lungu to receive an award at the “17th Annual So the World May Hear Award” for her enormous contribution to underprivileged people in Zambia.

Starkey Hearing Foundation president Richard Brown said Mrs Lungu has been chosen as the 2017 Humanitarian Honouree at an award gala to be held this week in Minnesota, USA.
This is according to a statement issued by first secretary for press and public relations at the Zambian embassy in Washington DC Cosmas Chileshe.
Mr Brown said Mrs Lungu, as the First Lady of Zambia and patron of the Esther Lungu Foundation Trust, has empowered and inspired many Zambians to make a difference in their communities, hence the gala committee’s decision to award her.
“The Starkey Hearing Foundation has noted with great delight that Mrs Lungu is among those that have inspired efforts to accelerate provision of hearing aids, raising more awareness and connect people with their families and communities,” he said.
