ESCO increases pontoon crossing fees

GOVERNMENT through the Engineering Services Corporation (ESCO) Limited has adjusted upward the pontoon crossing fees with immediate effect.
The revised fees have been effected in a bid to serve the clients better and more efficiently.
In a speech issued by Ministry of Works and Supply public relations officer Ndubi Mvula, ESCO managing director Patrick Nyirenda said the pontoon crossing charges were last revised in 2011.
Mr Nyirenda said a number of economic factors such as foreign exchange rates, fuel prices and cost of labour that directly affect the operations, have changed to the company’s disadvantage since then.
