RECENT disclosure by ZRA Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda that since the announcement by Government to replace VAT with Sales Tax this year, VAT refunds have shot up to K1.4 billion from about K700 is sad for the country and vindicates Government’s move to do away with a fraudulent system.
In the same vein, it also exposes those multinational companies and their supporters that they have no heart for the country and its people as long as super profits are shipped out to their countries of origin every month.
Due to the foregoing, l implore ZRA not to entertain the refunds until 2022.
