PRISCILLA MWILA, Lusaka
MINISTER of Tourism and Arts Charles Banda has urged other provinces to emulate Luapula and come up with initiatives that will sell their potential, and lure more investment in the country.
Mr Banda said each province has a unique culture and heritage which can be used to attract investment.
He said in an interview that Government cannot take development to every part of the country at once, but requires support from other stakeholders.
“We all need to be creative and come up with initiatives that will make us attractive on both the local and international market. Zambia has potential to lure investors that can help grow the economy, but this task requires effort from all stakeholders,” he said.
Mr Banda said more resources will be invested in the tourism sector as part of the country’s resolution to diversify the economy.
He said besides agriculture, tourism is another sector which has potential to transform the country’s economy amidst economic challenges.
Mr Banda urged the public to take interest in contributing towards the development of domestic tourism as it contributes to national development.
