Embrace latest technologies, farmers urged

ZAMBIA National Farmers Union (ZNFU) president Jervis Zimba has urged farmers to increase their productivity by embracing latest technologies, agro-innovations and machinery that will be displayed at this year’s Agritech Expo.
Mr Zimba said there is need for a Marshall Plan for agriculture to help farmers pick up the pieces and start on a fresh agro-trajectory after experiencing difficult times recently.
He said this in a statement ahead of the fifth edition of the Agritech Expo that begins this Thursday under the theme: “Resilience part of Zambian nature: Applauding every step forward towards the modernisation of Zambian agriculture,” and will be officially opened by President Edgar Lungu on Friday.
Mr Zimba said it is time for farmers to put the challenges behind.
