‘Embrace conservation technologies’

NOMSA NKANA, Lusaka
FARMERS in Southern Province have been advised to embrace conservation agricultural technologies as the best way to improve productivity in the area.
Addressing farmers from Mazabuka and Chinkankata districts during the Southern Province regional field day held at a Tiby Chibala’s farm recently, Southern Province permanent secretary Sibanje Simuchoba said farmers should use such gatherings as a platform to learn and adopt conservation farming knowledge.
This is contained in the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) latest newsletter availed to the Daily Mail last week.
The field day was attended by district commissioners for Mazabuka and Chikankata, officials from Ministry of Agriculture from the respective areas, University of Zambia (UNZA), students from Zambia College of Agriculture and over 10 agro dealers exhibited during the event.
Also in attendance were ZNFU, Musika and the Conservation Farming Unit (CFU) which was the major organiser of the event.
