TWO second-half goals yesterday guided Green Eagles to victory over Young Buffaloes, who wanted to beat Sudanese referee Alamen Abdelghani and his assistants after the Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg for alleged biased officiating.
Edward Mwamba and substitute Jonathan Manongo ensured Eagles got a win on their debut in Africa’s second-tier competition.
“Young Buffaloes are a very good side. You can tell that they have already participated in the Confederation Cup by the way they played. Football being what it is, we are playing at home and we had to make sure that we get a positive result and that’s what we did.
“We know that it was not easy to get the two goals but the most important thing for the players is that they have played for the first time continental football,” Eagles coach Aggrey Chiyangi said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
