E-voucher needs gradual changes

SMALL-SCALE Farmers’ Development Agency (SAFADA) has called on Government to gradually implement changes made to the electronic voucher (e-voucher) system to avoid disruption of the programme.
SAFADA director Boyd Moobwa said the changes made to the e-voucher system have the potential to affect the supply chain if not handled well.
Mr Moobwa said the implementation must not be done in a hurry to avoid difficulties encountered in the previous farming seasons.
“In the past farming seasons, Government failed to achieve 100 percent e-voucher implementation and this had an adverse impact on the crop yield,” he said in an interview last week.
