DESPITE several appeals for introduction of dual citizenship, only 198 people have applied from the time President Edgar Lungu assented to the amended Constitution about two years.
Department of Passport, Registration and Citizenship registrar-general Mathews Nyirongo said in an interview yesterday that despite numerous calls for dual nationality, only few people have responded to the new legislation.
“It appears some Zambians living abroad were only interested to own land in Zambia, hence their call for dual nationality. Now that their concern has been attended to, they are not coming forth,” Mr Nyirongo said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
