DStv’s Spiritual Sunday welcome

THE initiative has been long over-due and there is no better time for DStv, to launch “Spiritual Sunday” than when we are getting closer to the festive season.
And so to the management of DStv it’s oh hail to the glory of God for partnering with the gospel music fraternity for what will bring some spiritual growth in the comfort of our homes.
I have gotten used and blessed with such gospel channels as One Gospel over the last 10 years, but a local “Spiritual Sunday” right in our backyard? To God be the glory and honour!
The Angels might be singing in the Heavens because in less than a month, Zambia, which has been declared a Christian nation, was in prayer and fasting before going down on her knees to ask for more blessings as we celebrated our 51st independence anniversary.
What I gathered from MultiChoice house on Alick Nkhata is that DSTV’s Zambezi Magic Channel for Southern Africa is introducing a block of spiritual programming from around the region that started showing on November 8.
Dubbed Spiritual Sunday, the channel will be show-casing the many reasons gospel artistes have to worship and praise the Lord with a song and dance (Psalms 150:6).
Now, this is a major boost for the Christian music in-put because the gospel of Jesus Christ has to be spread in whatever form and platform all around the world.
The programme which will be aired every Sunday morning, featuring different genres of Christian programming that will carter for the communities in Southern African Development Community (SADC), is a welcome gesture.
Latest music videos and some which have been blessing millions across the continent in recent years, will be unveiled on a show dubbed Kuyamika (uplifting) – voice of praise and a two-hour Zambezi Magic service that will feature sermons from different church denominations in the SADC region.
“We understand that our viewers in the SADC region are deeply Christian and this is why we have come up with a continent that caters for their spiritual enrichment. We have an array of programmes that will include sermons, gospel music and magazine talk-shows, among others that will speak to their daily walk as Christians,” Addiel Dzinoreva, head of Zambezi Magic said.
And so, as Christians brace for today’s programme, worshippers will have some food for thought the gospel way with music from the likes of Ephraim (the son of Africa), Peace Preacherz, Mweshi Mulusa, Levy Sakala, Franciar, Nelly Zulu, Ruth Ndhlovu, Petershakes, Destiny Nsonge, Kings Malembe Malembe, among others.
For Zambezi Magic viewers, every Sunday will be no ordinary one as the videos of these local gospel musical greats and blessed children of the soil of Zambia will be right in our homes!
Several gospel artistes spoken to also expressed delight at the new development on our small screens and hope the DStv programming, along with the Enter-In on Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) will bring abundant faith in our hearts.
