Doubts over $1m rail project

THE construction of the US$1 billion private railway line connecting Zambia to Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo has delayed due to doubts by the financiers and strategic partners on the viability of the project.
However, Government is not borrowing the US$1billion as the project will be private sector driven.
Minister of Transport and Communication Brian Mushimba said the activation of the railway line has taken long because of the market was sceptical in supporting the project.
