SITEMBILE SIWAWA, Monze
LEONARD Cheshire Disability programmes manager Musonda Siame has expressed concern that parents have continued hiding their disabled children despite being sensitised.
Mr Siame said the development is unfortunate and urged parents with disabled children to let them access education.
He noted that lots of children are isolated from society due to lots of misconceptions.
“Despite awareness, some parents still feel that having a child with a disability is associated with evil spirits or bad luck. This is a misconception and disability can come to anyone at any time,†Mr Siame said.
