Djokotoe on Dr Manasseh Phiri

LUSAKA – It is slightly over a week since Dr Manasseh Phiri succumbed to the cold hand of death and was cremated in Lusaka as per his wishes. But that has not stopped tributes from coming in for the late medical doctor, broadcaster and health activist.
Below is a reproduction of what is in every way a very emotional tribute by veteran media trainer EDEM DJOKOTOE. Dr Phiri died of cancer, a disease that Mr Djokotoe is currently battling with.
His tribute is titled “Of ashes and peace: To Dr Manasseh Phiri”.
It reads:
“Doc, old friend. Wherever you are, I know you have found peace. I never got to say goodbye but it is well. God knows best.
“But for your passing just over a week ago, I’d have stayed away a few months longer than the two months I have been off Facebook.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
