GOVERNMENT has challenged the two railway companies operating in the country to diversify into non-rail services to efficiently run the rail transport.
Minister of Transport and Communication Brian Mushimba said Zambia Railways Limited and Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) should consider developing dry ports and containerise into other non-rail services to supplement the industry.
“The railway companies should think outside the box by also venturing in dry port. The companies should transition themselves into total logistical companies that will provide all the services from rail transport and non-rail services,” Mr Mushimba said in…http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
