Diggers, Arrows, Eagles push for top four finish

THE race to finish in the top four will intensify today when the National Rugby League (NRL) enters Week 13 with intriguing fixtures across

the country.
Kitwe Playing Field (KPF) are back in action following last Saturday’s walkover win over Kansanshi and have a chance to consolidate their lead when they host 10th placed Konkola.
KPF have 51 points, 13 better than champions Red Arrows and ‘Men at Work’ Diggers.
Diggers need to beat Nkwazi to remain in contention for a top four finish.
Under the restructured format, the top four teams after Week 15 will clash in the semi-finals and then the final to determine the NRL champion.
Buoyed by last Saturday’s 62-0 win over Ndola Wanderers, Diggers lining up veterans Patrick Chanda and Kabwela Musonda will aim at victory.
But it will not be easy against Nkwazi who will rely on home-ground advantage.
Nkwazi are eighth with 25 points.
Fifth-placed Green Buffaloes travel to Ndola Wanderers seeking nothing but victory.
Buffaloes on 36 points will look to experienced Niven Kunda and Collins Chisenga to push for a top four finish but the hosts driven by Joseph Chipempele and Frank Chansa are capable of causing an upset if underrated.
Elsewhere, champions Red Arrows welcome Chibuluma, ‘Powerhouse’ Lusaka host Kansanshi, Nchanga face Green Eagles in Chingola while Roan and Mufulira A will battle it out in a rescheduled Week Nine in Luanshya.
Mufulira B are on bye.
