Police in Mwinilunga have arrested a 58-year-old man for allegedly killing his 41-year-old son Sebastian Soneka over a stone believed to be a diamond.
Deputy police public relations officer Rae Hamoonga said the incident occurred around 19:00 hours on November 24, 2014.
Mr Hamoonga said it is alleged that the two had a family dispute over a “diamond” which Soneka found on the road near their village.
“It was then that the suspect picked an axe and axed the deceased on the right ear and right eye brow,” he said.
Mr Hamoonga said Sokeka’s body is in Mwinilunga District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem and burial.
