THE United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DfID) is waiting for the outcome of the social cash transfer programme forensic audit to be finalised for it to resume positive development cooperation with the Zambian government.
DfID director general Lindy Cameron said once the audit process has been completed, the department will engage Zambian authorities to chart the way forward.
Ms Cameron also confirmed receipt of the £2.7 million which was refunded by the Zambian government following concerns by the UK on the use of the social cash transfer programme resources.
“We are grateful for honouring our request,” she said.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
