Delayed IMF bailout package taken in stride

MINISTER of Finance Felix Mutati says the delay in securing a bailout package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will not affect smooth implementation of development programmes.

Mr Mutati says Government has put in place cautious measures to finance development programmes and will not rely on parameters that are outside its control. This is according to a statement issued yesterday by Ministry of Finance head of media and public relations Chileshe Kandeta.
“The domestic resource mobilisation enhancement measures which are being implemented as part of the 2018 budget, coupled with the stepped up focus on public-private partnerships, will be the game changers,” he said.
