DEC nabs woman over cocaine

THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has arrested a 29-year-old businesswoman of Lusaka for allegedly trafficking in cocaine weighing 27.3 grammes.
DEC assistant public relations officer Chibu Tembo said in a statement on Thursday that Annie Musonda was apprehended in Chilenje Township.
“The suspect was apprehended as she was about to conduct a transaction on Kalomo road in Chilenje,” Ms Tembo said.
Ms Tembo said the commission also arrested Webster Muzeche, 32, a businessman of Lusaka’s Makeni for allegedly trafficking in 0.5 granules of cocaine.
In the Southern Province, the commission has arrested a Malawian national for allegedly trafficking in cannabis.
“Prince Ndundambeza, 26, of Kasaka area in Kafue was arrested for (allegedly) trafficking in loose cannabis weighing 6.1kgs,” Ms Tembo said.
She said the suspect was apprehended at Kafue Bridge adding that he had been on DEC’s watch list for allegedly supplying psychotropic substances in the area.
