‘Cyber Security Bill good’

CHIEF government spokesperson Dora Siliya says the Cyber Security Bill is not meant to stifle press freedom but to protect citizens from those who want to use the internet to commit crimes and threaten the country’s peace.
Government plans to take three bills to Parliament that support productive use of the internet and social media.
The bills are the Cyber Security and Cyber-Crime Bill, the E-Commerce Bill and the Data Protection Bill.
Ms Siliya said the bills are not targeted at journalists as perceived by some sections of the media.
